If you’re not willing to learn, no one can help you. If you’re determined to learn, no one can stop you. ~unknown
Today, I am embracing change to increase my peace of mind! I'm happy to announce that starting tomorrow I will be an employee of Teavana, a Starbucks owned tea bar. The store that I will be working at is only the second of it's kind, the first one is found in Manhattan and only opened up 2-3 weeks ago. Think of your neighborhood Starbucks...only one of them...and then imagine that it serves only tea, over 100 kinds! This is what I get to be a part of, and you can too if you come see me, at the newest UVillage tea shop, Teavana Tea Bar.
I'm excited to learn again! I'm excited to learn about different teas, where they come from, how they affect our bodies, and be able to educate our customers about a product that is the second most ingested liquid, only after water. I'm excited to work as a team and interact with people. One of the only aspects of this new job is that that the dress code includes only black and grey. For those who know me, you know that those are two of the least worn colors in my wardrobe. Oh well, time for some 2nd hand shopping. Who wants to join?
Switching gears after making a go of it on my own for the last 4 1/2 years, I have consistently gone back and forth with myself on what the next steps are, not necessarily wanted to re-enter the corporate world. But also recognizing that my financial situation is not that much different than at the beginning of the year...even though my intention was Green. A dear friend, Rhonda, introduced me to this blog post yesterday, 11 Things I Wish I Knew When I Started My Business. In which I listened whole-heartedly to #5 - Build a Hybrid Stream of Income. I feel like I have been "obnoxiously naive" about the status of my finances. Now I can stop placing so much energy into how negative my debt is, and actually start getting out of its big black hole! I'm hopeful that this will create clarity and momentum towards building a successful business of my own geared towards helping others get unstuck.
How are you embracing change today?
I am on the journey to create joy and live with full happiness. And my wish for you is to do the same!
