Being under the weather has had an amazing way of keeping me in the present moment. I've felt the cramping, the discomfort, the feverish states, the lack of control. PachaMama really knows what to serve up when I'm least expecting it; at the most stunning place during our time in Guatemala, Utopia Eco Lodge and Cacao Farm.
I've been quite lucky, that it took my body over a month to come down with what is called "Traveler's Diarrhea." The food and water that I've been eating and drinking has proven to not be an issue, even the amazing street food tacos and fresh fruit salads. So what caused this bout of unintentional cleansing, you ask? My best guess is that while we were swimming, by candlelight, in a cave at Semuc Champey and sliding down a natural slide created by the underground river, I got quite a bit of water up my nose and into my system. Who knows what kind of bacteria was in this water that settled into my insides. But my fever started shortly after and took me down about 12 hours later.
Nonetheless, the present moment has felt very real. Which in hindsight of the worst of it, created some great ideas, inspirations, and manifestations. Maybe in the coming weeks, I'll elaborate on these, but for now, I'm on the mend as we journey off to Peru today.
I am on the journey to create joy and live with full happiness. And my wish for you is to do the same!
