“What can you do to promote world peace? Go home and love your family.”– Mother Teresa
Today I'm so grateful for my family! This mercury in retrograde has been making itself very apparent in my life over the last couple of days. In the last two days, I hadn't heard from, communicated, or emailed my mom or dad - which seems like an eternity. You see, my parents are two of my very best friends. I am connected to them everyday in some way, usually through technology. When neither my brother or me had heard from them in 24+ hours, we started to worry.
After some research this morning, we found the missing link, discouraging all the worried thoughts that had run through our minds overnight. My parents live in Friday Harbor, on San Juan Island. Sometime the island life has more than its share of troubles. There had been a cell phone/internet outage due to a broken underwater cable. The island residents could only communicate with each other. Any contact off island was a hopeless thought. Thank goodness! Whew!
During this whole scenario, a million monkey mind thoughts were running through my conscious and unconsciousness. What conversation did I last have with my parents? I hope I told them that I loved them. When can I get up to the islands to make sure they're okay? What it came down to is that I'm not ready to not have my parents be a part of my life. Love you Mom & Dad!!
Another realization that I had, is that I want to have a more present connection with my brother. We are different, yes, but when all is said and done all we have is each other. That doesn't and won't ever change. I love you, Ky!
Today, I'm grateful for my family! A million times over!
I am on the journey to create joy and live with full happiness. And my wish for you is to do the same!
