"Where attention goes, energy flows. Where intention goes, energy flows." James Redfield
I'm deep in the impressive process of healing my relationship with money. From a previous post, I had an "ah-ha" that I have never asked for a raise, or countered any of my job offers. I just accepted what they thought I was worth. I didn't know any better. I didn't know what I was worth. This realization brought up various feelings (shame, disappointment, confusion, frustration, shriveled, insignificant, little, worthless...) for me that I could have spiraled down and down and down with for a while. But because my relationship with money is so important to me right now, I decided to stand up for how I wanted to feel.
After months of being in conversations and negotiations with a start-up company (more on them later!) I received an offer last week to work with them as a contractor starting this week as a Mindfulness Coach! The work that I'll be doing with them is extremely similar to what I currently do with my Mindful Eating clients, however it is completely virtual. I get to coach participants on building habits that bring mindfulness and intentions into their daily routines. Because the work is so similar to my own business, I knew that the quality of my performance would exceed their expectations and I wanted to be paid similarly to what I charge my current clients. So for the first time EVER, I counter offered their rate with a rate that makes me feel valued and significant and powerful. And it was accepted! This is a HUGE win for me to overcome the mentality that my worth is held by someone else's view of me, rather than the value that I know I provide. My attention on my relationship with money is growing, and with that comes the energy of contentment that I feel. My intention of healing my relationship with money is benefiting so much more that just my bank accounts, but how I feel about myself and how I bring value into this sweet, beautiful world.
Keep it coming Universe!!
I am on the journey to create joy and live with full happiness. And my wish for you is to do the same!
