"Once you've found your own voice, the choice to expand your influence, to increase your contribution, is the choice to inspire others to find their voice. Inspire (from the Latin inspirare) means to breathe life into another. As we recognize, respect and create ways for others to give voice to all four parts of their nature--physically, mentally, emotionally/socially, spiritually--latent human genius, creativity, passion, talent and motivation are unleashed."
~ Steven Covey from The 8th Habit: From Effectiveness to Greatness
Recently, the question has come up about where I got the name Moon Siren Ritual. Three years ago, I found myself at Burning Man for the first time. A sight that nothing can prepare you for, no matter how many stories you hear, pictures you see, or dreams you have. While in Black Rock City during the 2011 festival, I received the "playa name" of Siren. Besides the Greek mythology connotation, it was a name that I liked right off the bat. However, back in Seattle, while listening to emergency sirens pass by my house on a daily basis, something didn't quite fit.
Over the last 3 years, my name has morphed from Siren to Moon Siren, which suits me better for many reasons. I am a cancer and my ruling planet is the moon. My body gravitates towards water, whether it is in the form of rain, lakes, rivers or oceans. I find peace, comfort, and the great ability to relax when by water. I speak quietly and have a gentle demeanor. My favorite past time is to turn inward and reflect - just like the moon does. As I've learned so much about my self through this name, I want to guide you to learn about yourself.
The new moon is tomorrow. This is a great time to respect and create openings for all sides of ourself - physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.
I am on the journey to create joy and live with full happiness. And my wish for you is to do the same!
