Pumpkin Seed Smoothie: Derived from Whole Life Nutrition Cookbook 1/2 cup raw pumpkin seeds, soaked overnight in filtered water 2 cups filtered water 1 apple, cored 2 cups frozen blueberries 2 dried figs
Soak pumpkin seeds in water all day OR all night.
Rinse, and then place into a blender with 2 cups fresh water, apple, frozen blueberries, and figs.
Blend until very smooth and creamy.
Tom’s Fruity Medicine Chest Smoothie: Derived from Whole Life Nutrition Cookbook 2 Apples, cored and cut into chunks 2 Pears, cored and cut into chunks 1 – 2 cups of water 1 – 2 inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and sliced 5 Kale leaves, rinsed and torn 5 Romaine lettuce leaves, spinach leaves, or collard greens, rinsed 1 cup coarsely chopped green cabbage, optional
Place the apple and pear chunks, and water into a blender and blend till smooth and creamy
Add the ginger, kale, lettuces and green cabbage. Blend again until very smooth. Add more water for a thinner smoothie.
If it is too “lettucy” then add another pear and blend again. Add more water for a thinner consistency.
Remove the tops from the carrots, and feed through the juicer. Juice the kale and parsley. Drink immediately.
Mean Green Juice Recipe: Derived from www.all-about-juicing.com 1 cucumber, cut into spears 1 good bunch of Kale 4 celery stalks 1/2 lemon, cut in half (rind on ok) one small knob (about ½ inch or less) of ginger root 2 granny smith apples, cored and cut into quarters
Juice the cucumber, kale, celery, lemon, ginger and apples. Serve immediately. This will make about 2 glasses of mean green juice.
½ cup raw almonds 3 cups water 2 tablespoons maple syrup or 2 pitted medjool dates Pinch sea salt
Place the almonds into a small bowl and cover with purified water. Soak at room temperature for about 6 hours or overnight.
After the almonds have soaked, rinse them well under warm running water. Place them in a blender with the water, maple syrup or dates, and sea salt. Blend on high for 2 to 3 minutes or until you have a very smooth milk.
If you would like it even smoother you can pour the milk through some cheesecloth into a container and squeeze out any remaining liquid.
